The Belt Gets Tightened…

TiVo Customer Service center. I have now canceled my TiVo series 2 and TiVoHD machines. Why did I do this? Well, to put it short, I canceled my cable TV service. I’m taking the CableCard back to the local Comcast office today, and since my $99/yr renewal fee for the TiVo hasn’t gone through yet, I figured I’d save myself another chunk of change I can’t afford to spend. Rest assured, I will be renewing my service as soon as I get Cable TV again. 🙂 TiVo is the best thing to ever happen to TV, and the HD unit is pretty danged awesome. I will say this though, in regards to canceling the TV and Digital Voice services from my Comcast bundle: I’m saving $120 a month by cutting those services alone! The sad thing is that I’m going to miss two of the biggest auto races of the year: The Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500. While this makes me sad, I have a feeling that I’ll be able to get a play-by-play online somewhere or maybe even find them broadcast online. For the rest of the shows I watch, there’s hulu.com.
