Linuxcare, Transmeta, TDSI, and NCS are all *poof!* gone like the dodo. I had acquired many shirts during my time at those companies. I also have a lot of shirts that I got as swag at LinuxWord Expo in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Most of those companies are gone as well. Many of the shirts have some catchy slogans on them. Stormix had a shirt with the slogan, “It’s Time To Close The Windows.” Borland Inprise had a shirt with the slogan, “Living La Vidia Linux”, a play on Ricky Martin’s song, Living La Vida Loca. Another from Penguin Computing had a picture of a very large Tux trampling the Redmond, WA headquarters of Microsoft and the slogan, “Good evening Mister Gates. I’ll be your server today.” I remember very well those slogans, but I’m sure than many folks today don’t know what they’re all about. I’ve seen a lot of things come and go with the dot-com bubbles and whatnot. I really miss those days, a lot of innovation came about and things were EXCITING. Of course, things are exciting these days as well, but for very VERY different reasons. These old T-shirts show an era in history that is gone. It was an era with meteoric rising and falling of companies. Folks made and lost a LOT of wealth. We recovered from the downturn of that era and found another bubble to inflate and burst. I’m confident that things will recover in time. Hopefully I’ll come through it okay. But one lesson to be learned here… I have WAY too many T-shirts. If this pile of shirts can go for over four months without being missed, it’s time to thin my collection a bit. That’s all from me for now. I have more laundry to fold. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
Memories are something nobody can ever take away from you . . . and the good ones get better with time and the bad ones fade. Great how it works that way!

Wonder how come my “feeds” don’t show =all= the times when you put up something new — just sort of once in a while.
Any idea why this new machine says Google Earth isn’t a Wondoze compatable programme (or words to that effect) and won’t load it when I try to do so after downloading it [Google Earth 5.0]?

Email me about the Google Earth issue.
The next to last paragraph of your latest entry here seems to be most accurate.
(*) To Ol’ Dad: did you download the Linux version?
He may have done just that. 😉
Yeah, I got rid of about 20 T-shirts after folding all my laundry. Still need to get rid of more T-shirts though.
