really looking forward to is the technology we’ll be able to start using now that we’re running Active Directory. Some of that tech is stuff I got to play with back in 2000 when I worked for Transmeta (networked home directories, centralized account management), and some I’ve only ever dreamed of (roaming profiles for our CS and Billing departments) but have been around a long time. I’m really looking forward to learning more about how this stuff works – it’ll only make me a much more valuable employee. I’m also excited about the Exchange server. I know I’ve bashed Exchange in the past, but I’ve been fairly pleased with it so far. I’ve had an account on the thing and been using it as my main email for work now for the last four weeks, and I’ve yet to experience any real serious issues. I really like Outlook Web Access, it’s the single *most* functional webmail application I’ve ever seen. Sure, Yahoo’s new system comes close, but OWA is extremely powerful. Unfortunately, in order to use *all* of the functionality, you have to use AIEEEEE, err IE (Internet Explorer). However, even the “lite” version, which we see when we use another browser is nice and easy to use. *sigh* Here I am on my first day off, and I still can’t stop thinking about work. Scary, ain’t it? Anyway… I’m gonna go finish watching some stuff on TiVo. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
