great movie theater, the AMC Mercado 20. It’s a 20-screen cineplex with stadium seating, good sound, and a good picture in every theater. The bad part is that this cineplex is part of the Mercado shopping center, which includes a TJ Max, Micro Center, and several other big-draw shops and restaurants. There just isn’t enough parking to accommodate everybody all at the same time. Heaven forbid you’d need to go to say Kinko’s during an opening night for two blockbusters. You’d have to try to find a spot around the back of the theater (I’ve seen these fill up, too!), walk around to the front of the building, then cross the parking lot – while dodging impatient theater patrons – to get to the Kinko’s. But in this day and age where land is expensive and we strive for high-density living, this is sadly the future to come. Maybe I should move to a small town in the midwest and get away from it all. On second thoughts, I’d rather get kicked in the nads, repeatedly, before this happens. I guess I’ll just learn to deal with it. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to find a parking spot at the hospital. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
Well, a better access via public transportation can solve some of these issues. The Oakland Kaiser as well as Oakland Children’s Hospital has free shuttles to MacArthur BART. And the Emeryville’s AMC Bay Street can also be reached via the free Emery-go-round that stops at MacArthur BART.
