The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe before the movie comes out on Friday. I knew it was a fast read, but I didn’t know it was *that* fast of a read. I read the entire book in about 90 minutes. Ask any of my friends – I’m not a fast reader. The thing that surprised me is that this is very much a children’s book. WAY more so than Harry Potter. The book was directed at children through and through. What concerns me is that the previews I’ve seen for the forthcoming movie is that it looks like it’s geared toward teens and young adults. But then again, the trailer I’ve seen highlights much of the action. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie though. It should be good. On the flip side, I’ve been reading the fourth Anita Blake Vampire Hunter book, The Laughing Corpse lately. This morning I finished the last few pages of TLTW&TW on the train and then picked up where I left off in TLC. Wow, what a mindfuck. going from a children’s fantasy novel to a very adult thriller is a big gap. I do not recommend you trying this one at home folks. It took me a few minutes to acclimate myself back to the AB story mood. It’s a good book, and I have to thank for getting me hooked on this series. Well, she loaned me the books and directed me to a story by that was an AB/HP crossover. I usually don’t like crossovers, but that one was done so bloody well that I just hadda start reading the AB series. Oh, in relation to the title of this post – if Aslan and Anita ever had to face off, I’d bet on Anita all the way. Aslan may be all-powerful, but Anita ain’t afraid to bust a cap in the bad guy’s ass, and she’s killed her fair share of Master Vampires. Now if Aslan was a master vamp… *shudder*… But I’m getting ahead of myself. It must be time for lunch. Danzig – Mother]]>
