Capitol One trying to get me to sign up for a Platinum card (with a balance of up to $3500 to boot!). I figured that if they gave me a card with a decent balance I could get the new laptop I wanted. Usually I get turned down for all kinds of stuff. However, this time I actually got approved. It’s not much, but it’s my first ever Visa card that I got on my own. I’m trying to decide between the following two uses:
- Everyday spending — The limit on this card’s low enough that I could afford to pay it off monthly. This would help rebuild my credit.
- Emergency spending — For stuff like mid-range emergency stuff: car fix, etc. This would get paid off over 3 months.
