Damn You Harry Potter! Damn you straight to hell! Thank you. Yes, the Harry Potter books are keeping me awake at night. Okay, it’s not the books themselves that are keeping me up late these last few nights, but the irresistable urge to read the next page. <sigh> I can’t begin to tell you how excellent these books are. I’m on the fourth one now. I’m absolutely certian that when the fifth book comes out, I’ll be getting it and losing more sleep. It all started with the Harry Potter movie. That movie is really good. I’ve seen it three times now (and yes, the third time was enough for me). I even bought the soundtrack. That’s where I stop though. I’m not gonna start buying merchandise and all that jazz. Books are enough for me. Speaking of which, I’ve borrowed the ones I’m reading now. After the Christmas holidays, I’ll go get my own copies to have. So tomorrow, the new Lord of the Rings movie comes out. Now this series looks to be promising. Filmed in my home country of New Zealand, the cinematics and effects should be superb. If you’re a total Tolkien nut who has the books memorized and can describe the events stated on page 152 of book two, then you may be disappointed, or so I hear. I myself am anxious to see this one, but I’m not gonna go fight the crowds to go see it within the first week it’s opened. I’ll probably go see it sometime after the first of the year. I’m sure you’ve been wondering where the hell I’ve been these last several weeks… Well, I did say that I was gonna be on hiatus while I get things into check and all that. To be honest, I haven’t had much desire to update the page. Every time I get the desire to do something, I get started and end up scrapping the update to play games on my computer. (Damn you, Win2k! Damn you straight to hell!!!) That’s one of the good things about reading – it keeps me offa the ‘puter. 😉 Work has been going well. My department has been interviewing people to fill some of the positions we need filled. It’s interesting being part of a 7-person interview team, I’ll tell you that much. One thing that would impress me more is if some of these people would just start being honest and start telling us when they don’t know the answer to the question we’ve just asked them. I really hate it when they drag on and on trying to come up with some solution to a problem they don’t know how to resolve. Hell, I think that about half my interview questions were answered with honest I-don’t-knows and I-can-learn-its. It’s frustrating, I’m telling ya! Last month at Planet Granite they had their annual Cranberry Crank climbing competition. I managed to do well enough to tie for 5th place in the Intermediate class. Frankly, I’m incredibly stoked at this turn of events. I was hoping that I’d either place or get bumped. Maybe next year I’ll be good enough to get bumped. 🙂 Anyhow, I’m starting to ramble on a bit and this entry’s getting very long. I’ll post something up for Christmas ∓ New Year’s. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
