TiVo. The more I watch HD programming – especially hockey – the more I come to realize that my 32″ HDTV Tube is too small. Maybe next year I’ll save up for a 42″ or bigger plasma unit. The one thing I’ve still not done is plug one of my computers into the TV and play WoW on it. Heh. Anyway… I’m getting off track. I’ve had a pretty good week so far. I’ve been able to do a lot of cool things at work. I didn’t get to some of the pet projects I’d thought would be nice to work on, but I feel accomplished. Hopefully next week I’ll be able to get started on migrating our in-house wiki to a new home. One thing I did get to work on was building a new box to host my backups on. Sadly, I learned from my vendor that their product is inherently broken for Windows and doesn’t do cross-platform very well. It’s nice to learn this seven months after switching to this solution and paying several thousand dollars in license and support contract costs. Needless to say, we’ll be moving to another solution very soon, hopefully within the next few months. Hopefully I’ll be able to do it right with this next solution, too. I want incrementals and weeklies to go to disk, with monthlies, quarterlies, yearlies to go tape and go offsite. Oh, and I’d like to be able to restore from backups, too. That’s one thing I can’t do now. *sobs* Anyhow… I’m geeking out and talking too much about work. I think I’ll start paying more attention to the game and less to the laptop. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
