Motorcycle. I’m going to put a deposit on that thing on Friday. (They’re not in stores yet!) This week I’m looking into the insurance. YIKES! I may have to rethink this, unless I can get some better quotes. I won’t mind paying up to $1600/yr, but the first quote I got was for $4400/yr! Holy CRAP!!! There’s no way in HELL I’m going to pay that much for Motorcycle insurance. One of these days this week I’m gonna have to stop by the bike shop and ask them if they sell insurance and get a quote from them. I do want the bike, but I may just have to rethink things if the insurance is gonna be outrageous. Hell, even the yearly insurance on my car is less that $900. Yeesh! Anyway, it’s nice and early. I’ve gotta take a shower, eat breakfast and clean up a bit. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
Get a quote from the same people insuring your car, so you can try for a multiple vehicle discount. If that’s no good, then try the broker Eastwood – both of my policies are through them (one for my cars, one for my bike), and my bike insurance is only 101 bucks a year….
Then again, I’m not driving brand-new fuel injected godliness, either….
That quote IS from the same people insuring my car. I may think about a different model if the insurance is really going to be outrageous.
Dude who do you have for your insurance?
I never had a new fast crotch rocket, but when I was in CA I don’t think I ever paid more than $50 a month for insurance. It could be that the 600RR is just in a way higher insurance bracket, but when I was 18 and calling around to see how much insurance would be on an almost new Mustang GT is was only like $3000 a year… and that was when I was 18 and not married.
I know ins is hella expensive in Ca though.. in Illinois insurance is cheap on motorcycles, because the insurance is cheaper in general, and also because you can only drive them 6 months out of the year.
