1 , 2 ) and have figured out why my page sometimes renders incorrectly. Apparently Microsoft’s browser for Windows doesn’t follow the CSS1 standards. Well, if it does, then it only follows the core subset of CSS1, and not the entire specification, anyway. I’ve given up thinking that it’s my fault, and that it’s a problem with my coding, now that my page validates as W3C HTML 4.0 Transitional. One of these days maybe I’ll find out what’s causing the problem, but until then, I’m just gonna keep recommending Mozilla and Opera as the browsers of choice. I highly recommend Mozilla ‘cuz it’s open-source software and it DOES conform to the internet standards. Anyway, I’m done ranting and raving for the moment. Download those browsers and start witnessing the web in GOOD style! Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
YAY! I found another validation bug, but squashed it! The bug was in the template for the individual archives page. (The one that renders this page.) Hooray! Validate away!
Ian…
Check the movable type support forum. This problem should be specific to IE6 for Windows, and yeah, it sucks. But, there are several ways to correct it, while keeping your site as valid xhtml 1.0 transitional.
Thanks for the link! Will definitely check it out! Will post back here as to how well any of it works out. Unfortunately the two examples on that particular thread didn’t help.
The problem I have is that on some pages, the right-side border for the main box doesn’t show up. And it does this only on IE, and under certain resolutions. Go figure.
Actually, it can’t be that… the boxes are drawn in straight HTML. It’s tables that aren’t rendering correctly in IE.
Anyway, screw IE. Mozilla is the better browser anyway. 🙂
…But it shows up just fine under IE 5+ for MacOS
And that’s a good thing. I think once I actually make it into valid XHTML, the problem may go away… I’m working on it. 🙂
Damnit, it even had the problem when I converted over to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. 🙁
