these and a 900Mhz AMD Athlon Thunderbird processor. For the first time in 6 years I can say that I finally have a faster computer at home than I do at work. w00t! The downside to the whole thing is that now I have to draw from savings if I’m gonna make it through to the next payday. Poop. I guess it’s time to take everyone’s advice and start putting money into my savings accounts that are at my other bank. <sigh> Work’s going okay. I feel like I did better at getting on the ball today than I did yesterday and definitely more so than on Friday. I got to do more perl scripting (with a HUGE thanks to the fellas at http://www.perlmonks.org. Okay, so they didn’t do anything special, but they had the dox and tutorials online that I needed to help me figure out what I’m doing. Ya see, I can’t code my way out of a paper bag, and I’m just learning with Perl. (For those of you still wondering who haven’t followed any of those links yet, PERL stands for Practical Extraction and Report Language. I’ve got an excellent book by O’Reilly and Associates called Learning Perl, 2nd Edition. I haven’t read the whole thing yet, but I’m gettin’ there. 🙂 In other news I believe that a HUGE thank you and congratulations are in order for my friend RJ (aka Phuzzie) for being a serious dude helping me get to work last week while my truck was in the shop, and on his recent purchase of a 2001 Saturn SC2.
